May 1, 2009........ week 3 (1 down and 17 more to go) and so full of emotion

Love to see Fridays roll around!!  Although I am a few hours early..... Lets pretend it is Friday!!

As I prepare for the next stretch of waiting and to be heard in court, there are a bunch of thoughts that are running through my mind. I think I'll  have to revisit this post throughout the week to jot those thoughts down.  

Let me start the list:

1.. Fear of the known/unknown....

2.  The next phase after court.........

3.  The girls.......

4.  How ones heart can be so open and full  to a set children who may and may not know I exist......

5.  All The LOVE.........

6.  Getting the girls home, making the adjustment

7.  Getting my bottom ready for that long flight, where after sitting for over an hour my butt goes numb...  I know, TMI!!!.........

8.  Hoping I'm what they need/want as a mommy........

9.  Anticipation........

10.  One big happy family........

Happy Fasika.... A day late

Fasika (Easter)
Fasika (Easter) is celebrated after 55 days severe Lent fasting (Hudade or Abye Tsome). Orthodox Tewahedo Christians do not eat meat and diary products for the whole 55 days. Vegetarian meals such as lentils, ground split peas, grains, fruit and varieties of vegetable stew accompanied by injera and/or bread are only eaten on these days. The fist meal of the day is taken after 3 PM (9 o'clock in the afternoon Ethiopian time) during the fasting days, except Saturdays and Sundays, where a meal is allowed after the morning service.

On Easter eve people go to church and celebrate with candles which are lit during a colourful Easter mass service which begins at about 6 PM (12 o'clock in the evening Ethiopian time) and ends at about 2 AM (8 o'clock after mid-night Ethiopian time). Everyone goes home to break the fast with the meat of chicken or lamb, slaughtered the previous night after 6 PM, accompanied with injera and traditional drinks (i.e. tella or tej). Like Christmas, Easter is also a day of family re-union, an expression of good wishes with exchange of gifts (i.e. lamb, goat or loaf of bread).

Is it me or is that I can't wait for Friday to roll around to post and make way for another week that I can  cross off the calendar?  HMMMMM!!! I think a little bit of both!!!

Edit**** April 18th, 2009;

I woke up this AM like normal, went down stairs to make my breakfast smoothie, and scratched another day off the calendar, it was not until much later in the day, when I actually had to write April 18, that my heat skipped a beat, butterflies filled my stomach, and my mind did a complete swirl.  As much as I try to "keep it together" I can say today was the day, where my thoughts of happiness, fear, excitement, all came down on me at once, and it was this day that brought me exactly 29 days closer to my ET Beauties!!! 

THESIS IS DONE!!!

CAN I JUST SAY: DONE DONE DONE!!! CAN'T WAIT TO TO TURN THIS SUCKER IN....ME AND MY GROUP HARD AT WORK!!! PUTTING THE FINAL TOUCHES ON THE PROJECT!!!

Yeah I dyed these eggs and had thoughts of two little special girls being home to dye eggs & plopping Easter egg dye all over the place!!! (can't wait) but for now......... Mommy dyed the eggs for you girls!!!

Just A Moving On Up!!!

Congrats Robbin!!!

Yesterday, a very special friend of mine by the name of Robbin received her referral of a 4 month old baby girl!!!!!

This is one of the most anticipated referrals I have waited for since blogging. There were many twist and turns in Robbins's process, that made it seem like the dream was unobtainable at the time, however, with a whole lot of praying and a whole lot of foresight, GOD has said let it be....... unite mother and child,  and on April 9th, 2009 so began their journey and story.

Robbin I am so happy for you!!! We can all be nervous together and "NEW" moms.  You have kept the faith, and as I watched you take every curve ball thrown your way, you have caught evey last one of them, taken the lesson they each had to teach, and stood strong, with a faith and belief, that your daughter was coming home, soon and very soon!!!!

For that my friend I have learned volumes of lessons from you.

Jacinda Passed Court!!!

In the first pic Jacinda is talking to my girls who are sitting right next to her!!!!!, but I can't post any pics of them!!! All three had the same pony tail holders and all three at the same time in this pic are pulling and playing with their pony tail  holders.  You gotta love it!!!

I wanted to give a shot out to Diann and her Daughter who I think is just drop dead gorgeous They passed court today!!!!

What Does Waiting Look Like Coupled w/School Projects and a Thesis?

Long Nights, Long Days, And Lots Of Praying!!!

Well as my masters program draws to a close there are a total of 3 more classes left stretched from now until the 4th of May. I graduate from college on the 16th of May!!!!!. I have to really hit the books and get my work done, which I plan on completing while on spring break. The bulk of my projects are due on the 20th of April, and then I am literally free after that until May 4th when my Thesis has to be presented!!!

So like I did once before, I have to say good-bye to blogging and hello to Thesis!!! this is where the long nights and days come into play. So, No more blogging until after the 20th of April, unless something really important happens, no more surfing blogs either. I am fasting and purging from this addiction of mine starting today. See you guys in a few weeks. :)
